How we choose topics
We publish guides that help residents and visitors explore businesses, places to visit, food, shopping, events and everyday services in Belfast. A local reference belongs in an article when it helps explain the place, audience or subject — not simply because it is famous.
How we handle local facts
We aim to use reliable sources, prioritising the organisation responsible for the information, such as the relevant venue, event organiser, council, public service or transport operator. We distinguish Belfast City Council’s administrative area from wider uses of Greater Belfast and from neighbouring council areas. We avoid presenting nearby places as Belfast neighbourhoods.
Opening hours, transport, prices, event dates, availability, service areas and contact details can change. We may state when a detail was checked or link to an official source. Where a claim needs current confirmation, we may omit it or make clear that readers should verify it directly.
Independence and commercial relationships
Belfast Finder is an independent local information guide. A listing or mention is not automatically paid for or endorsed. If a page is sponsored or contains another commercial relationship, we will identify that relationship clearly. Commercial arrangements do not in themselves determine our editorial view.
Corrections and updates
If you spot an error, email [email protected] with the page address, the detail in question and, if possible, a reliable source. We review correction requests and update material errors where appropriate. We may make minor corrections without a separate notice; for a substantial correction, we may add an editorial note to the page.
A request from a business or individual does not guarantee removal. We consider accuracy, relevance, privacy, safety and the public interest. We do not publish private personal information or unverified allegations about individuals.
Scope and limitations
Our guides are selective, not a complete directory of every Belfast business, service, venue or event. Inclusion does not guarantee quality or availability, and absence does not imply criticism. Readers should confirm important details with the relevant organisation.
